Season 1 of the TeamDamage Clan League concluded at the TeamDamage LAN on Sunday with the Cromulens winning the $400 worth of computer hardware.
The official turnout for the LAN was 72. A respectable number although significantly lower than the registrations due to a lot of no-shows (shame on you people !). We had plenty of space though and everything ran fairly smoothly apart from the CounterStrike comp running a little over schedule (when does it not ?!).

The official events kicked off with the Halo All-In-Brawl where Trojan laid us all to waste with his skillful ghost manouvring to become the Brawl Champion of the LAN. Not long after that the Quake3 marathon was kicked off with absolute carnage erupting for quite some time, only starting to die down once the other competitions got underway. In the end it was once again NeonBlack who dominated in Quake3 and took out the Frag Master award for most frags over the day.

The CounterStrike comp had a great turnout of 10 teams and was full of surprises. Not so long ago it was Clan Ref and Clan Cromulens battling it out in the CounterStrike final. Many (including myself) expected to see a hard fought rematch likely to decide the winner of the Clan League, but Ref showed up without a full contingent and fell down badly finishing in the lower half of the comp. The Cromulens also underperformed, dropping out of the top 3. Thrown together team 'SWAT' (aka COON) was the real surprise packet, winning the final over much improved Clan EMI who had overcome some tough opponents to make the final. Clan MG were also big improvers from the previous CS comp to finish 3rd.

The Unreal Tournament comp started a little bit late and attracted 5 clans. This time the Cromulens were well prepared and put in a faultless performance to eliminate all opposition. They were never really threatened in any game, putting away an under-strength Bomb Squad in the final convincingly.
That victory was enough to improve the Cromulens Clan League score and secure their place as the number 1 clan in the Illawarra.

A short Wolfenstein Enemy Territory comp was the final organised game of the day and it was the Angry Nutman who went on a stomping spree. Although he switched teams a few times, every time he did he tipped the balance of the war and he was never going to be stopped from winning the Most Experienced award, which he scored every single map.

Overall, it was a pretty good day with very few problems and a lot of fun was had.
A big thanks to all those guys who came along to SlumberLAN and stayed to help us pack up. Hope to see you all back next time.

The date for the next TeamDamage LAN will be announced shortly, along with information about the startup of Season 2 of the TeamDamage Clan League so dont touch that dial.....
