After some debate and discussion the final make up of Onslaught LAN has been finalised with the goal of providing a range of solid team based gaming goodness. To this end we have selected a range of game types and maps that will suit the expected attendance of the event. Also we realise that this will be the first time we have ran a UT2004 event and will be also using it as a gauge and test bed for the future.
The basic outline for a fairly intense day of gaming is as follows
9:00 - Arrival and pre-start set up
9:30 - Organization of teams and room allocation.
10:00 - DM Free for all warm up. This will be to be a practice game while we get everyone to join in. it will not be counted towards any prizes. The map will be sorted out on the day
10:30 – The carnage begins
*Onslaught map 1 (to 5) Torlan the demo map
*Onslaught map 2 (to 5) Dawn
*Bombing run map (to 3) icefields
12:30ish to 1:30ish Lunch (people arrange their own food)
*Onslaught map 3 (to 5) Artic Stronghold
*Assault map 1 Fallen City
*Onslaught map 4 (to 5) Red Planet
*Onslaught map 5 (to 5) Severence
*Final round – Peoples Choice Game (as a group we will decide the game type and Map)
*Finish (aiming for 7 o’clock)
It was decided to run the event even though the required 18 may not be met. The only effect this will have on the event is that the afore mentioned prizes will be re-evaluated based on the actual attendance of the event. Again the afore promised prizes will not be on offer if 18 people do not attend the event. However the event will go ahead.
Some more information
*Adrenaline will be deactivated from all games via the “no Adrenaline” mutator.
*All maps will use default settings in regards to node configuration and weapons/vehicles.
*Normal TD rules of behaviour and standards will be in effect.
*Any player who drops out during a game for any reason is responsible to organise themselves to re join as soon as they can
*For the onslaught maps printed maps of the game will be supplied showing node structure - teams can use these before the games to plan strats.
*Players will be requested to vote for which player they thought was the most useful for their team. Each person chooses 3 players giving them a mark 1 to 3 with 3 been the best player on their team. There will be one players player for each team. At the end of the day the team with the most players payer points in their current team will be that teams players player. All votes are secret and no running tally will be keep the winners will be decided by counting up their votes at the end of the day. A person cannot vote for themselves (even if they feel they were the most productive for their team.).
*Every effort will be made so that clan mates involved in the current TD clan league are placed on the same team.
*Players maybe required to change teams during the event. If so the player will carry across with him or her any players player points they were awarded from the other team.
*A player will only be asked to move team if there is an enormous in balance in the team during.
*Players will asked to respect the premise of the LAN. That been play hard, have fun and treat your opponents with the respect you would want them to treat you with.
The whole TD crew is really looking forward to a good fun day. So check out the maps – practice - think about strats and we’ll see you on the day.
