Greetings TD\'ers
Well after a hiccup with our dates (originally we had the 5th of OCT but that is the NRL Grand Final) we have decided to move the date to the weekend before. So the next TD will be the 27th of September. Note that this is a Saturday not the traditional Sunday. Saturday has its advantages :-).
We have an action packed day planned and we promise to have something for everyone. We will host three organised games and have plenty of Free For All time. In fact because it is a Saturday we are extending the LAN. Thats right - The scheduled LAN will “officially” finish at 8pm but we will be remaining in the hall for what has been dubbed as “LAN till you drop” time. To be eligible for this “LAN till you drop” time you must have attended TD by arriving and having paid up before 10 in the morning and spending the day at TD. So if you planning to be there for the long haul get to TD before 10 and bring plenty of caffeinated beverages.
Once again Lunch will be provided but you do have the option to bring your own stuff and feel free to make use of the clubs BBQ and microwave during the lunch break.
We will be hosting 3 organised games and these will be run under the TeamPlayer LAN format. Captains for teams will be voted for, those captains will select their team, teams will talk tactics and games will be played. These games only take about 4 hours out of the total of 11 hours of the day (not including the “LAN til you Drop” time afterwards). So we expect - and will be actively encouraging - everyone to get involved. During the other 11 hours and beyond there will be much fun and craziness we encourage each and everyone one of you to use this Free For All time to organise “what ever the hell you want to do - with who ever the hell you want to do it with”. If you need the help of any of the admins there on the day with organising something you may want to do then feel free to approach them and they will drop what they are doing and help you immediately (that’s just the type of people they are).
Game servers will be up and operational from 9AM and we encourage people to test their games in the morning if they know they will be entering a competition. We also ask that users update their steam games before arriving at the LAN.
