Prepare for battle. LucasArts have announced that the action/shooter, Star Wars Battlefront has officially GONE GOLD and is scheduled to arrive on store shelves on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 - This is also the day that for the first time all three classic films will be available on DVD. interesting timing.

Star Wars Battlefront is an intense open-ended single player and multiplayer action game very much in the vein of the battlefield games. Two teams going at it - flying and driving classic star wars machines. Ride a speeder bike, drive a walker or scout walker, tie fighters x-wings speeders, tanks they all seem to be there. It gives you the opportunity to be part of the epic battles from the classic and prequel movies. By all reports this seems to be a winner check it out at

From what I gather, it's kinda like BF or Planetside, but Star Wars.

At first I thought it'd be singleplayer, but yeah, I'll give it a whirl.

I hear ya hef.

Lucasarts were once the gods. their star wars games (xwing - tie fighter - dark forces ) and non star wars games (monkey island, full throtle) were second to none. Then some of thier top guys left and it went to the s^!@. it reached a sad "peak" with force commander about the worst game ever made (however it is interesting that "ground contol" took the basic concept of force commander and made a decent game form it.). however the lucas arts guys have made a bit of a come back recently. Knights of the old republic was an awesome game so I am kind of hopeing battlefront is the same. However there is lingering in the back of my mind the memory of many past failures and disappointments

yeah fair point bioware were the KOTOR driving force. I still rate thier baulders gate as the best RPG game ever made.

battlefront is a not solely made by Lucas arts it is a jiont title with Pandemic stedios. i was a huge fan of battlezone 2 also made by Pandemic. The have been in volved in some really good games check out
