I say we kill the bastards. GG, now we know why the game was delayed. They've gotta rewrite Steam and the game's connectivity to it. That explains why there's been like 5 new releases of Steam since the 19th Sept.

Not really.
Sounds like alot of effort for something you really can't do alot with - unless your a competing studio, and you'll get your arse handed too you if you get caught.

True, corporate espionage is somewhat risky and stupid these days, especially in the IT industry when you have l337 h4x0rs in your employ.

I've seen nothing mentioning any effect on steam...?

The source code did infact contain Steam information.
The entire Steam client/server is needed to be re-done.

Yes, that is correct.
The entire Steam client/server is needed to be re-done.
I want someone from valve or another credible source telling me that...
I was looking last night but didn't find anything to that effect. So yeah, linkage!?
So far I've just heard people assuming that's the case.
Not sure how much server stuff is in there, what's been seen so far, is mostly client side checking etc. etc., nothing of real importance.

I just hope that some people with enough coding skill, or some of the original cheat-making people feel strongly enough about this leak to view the code, and report any holes etc. in it to Valve. It's times like these I wish I knew how to code (because I could probably get the source).

It's not hard to get at all... that's the big tip.
Most of the cheats are made by people who want to see how good they are, bit of a challenge... I doubt they'd find much of a challenge when they have the code.
A few hack writers have come forward in the past... one of the most popularised was for Quake 3 I believe, he basically wrote this 'awesome' hack, and told them how he did it and shit... he never released it though... it caused a bit of contraversy, though I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
