The purge has been completed way ahead of when I thought it would be, although the number of registered users dropped a lot more than I expected.
If this means that I trashed a whole lot of legit accounts I'm sure I'll hear about it soon enough, if so I can do a backup of the whole database, and try again.
Forum is back up, so enjoy.

wow, seems theres only 488 members instead wich seems more resonable. Why not switch off phpbb? Bots seem to be a major problem for it..

No phpBB means no forum....
Moddy did an update of our phpBB from (I think) 2.0.1.1 to 2.0.17, which added new preventative measures, it helped for a while, but now there are new exploits out. All we can do is monitor the new users, delete the bogus ones and ban the originating mail mask.
I don't really have the time nor inclination to set up a new forum on a system foriegn to me. Actually no, I just couldn't be buggered.
Plus the loss of all the existing user data and history of TD as written by its members, unless you know of another free forum system that can import an SQL phpBB database is too great a loss. Though if you do know of such software let me know cos I'll ckeck it out.

Im pretty positive theres a way to import phpbb into invisionboard, (1.3 the free version) but wouldn't have a clue how to or how good it actualy works.

Its the secondest biggest board company behind vBulletin I belive.. But any cross of member databases etc, wouldnt be made by them and would be 3rd party... and are usually considered risky.

Not a free product though. Don't want to pay for it when phpBB costs us nothing.

LoL.....
Ill put a mod on (tonight even) that ive been tossing around in the small cardboard packing box that is my mind, it requries users to do a simple task that bots can not do. As always just gotta get off my ass and DO it.
Hehe.

Must have, not must of, says Miss Grammer.
But then, it's a little late for people to start worrying about correct spelling, grammar and punctuation on this forum.
Plus it dont really matter how ya say it only whatcha say
