Quote:
Well TD is only 4 sleeps away and here is some information for you:

Maps
As stated the map for quake 3 CTF is bloodlust, a remake for the original quake 1 “Spill the blood”. The maps for starcraft and TF2 will be decided on the day depending on number and team preferences.
Free play
A number of games have been requested for free play. These are games people have expressed interest in by either contacting us via email or verbally (oh and one text message). We suggest if you are interested in playing any of these games have them set up installed and ready to play because you will find other people keen to play them. As usual free play is left to the masses and organise set up servers and run but the admin’s will help out in any way they can. If you want to get a game of something get up walk around a talk to your fellow gamers during the free game time.
- Red Alert 3
- Counter Strike: Source
- Company of Heroes
- Sins of a Solar Empire
- Starcraft
- COD 2 or 4
- Savage 1 or 2 (will be awesome if we have the numbers, also now free)
- Demigod (depends on interest may be good for cheap kicks)
- WC3 custom maps
- Left 4 Dead.
- Quake 1
- Trackmania
- UT 2004 or 3
- Natural Selection 1
- Supreme Commander (forged alliance)
Lunch
There are plenty of food places close by to grab a bite to eat. If you have a car please be a good TD citizen and offer transport to those that are there without vehicles. Or at least offer to get some food for those stuck in the hall.
Team Player style games
If you wish play in any of the TeamPlayer Style games (starcraft, Teamfortress 2, quake 3) then please try to get these games installed as early as possible. For more information about installing these games ask an admin.
Team Fortress 2
There will be many representatives of TD’s online competitive TF2 clan (Damage Incorporated) at this TD. If you want to know more about this aspect of TeamDamage then just ask. We are also more than happy to talk about the other online activities TD are involved in and would more the welcome any input any of you may have. You are asked to update your TF2 via Steam as close to Sunday as you can.
Communications software (to be used at the LAN)
After much deliberation and debate we have decided on adopting “mumble” as our standard communication software for all online and LAN activities run by TD. However we do reserve the right to alter this once the new version of teamspeak (teamspeak 3) comes out. We are of the opinion that both mumble and the current version of Team speak are pretty much equal with each having some strengths and weaknesses. However we decided on mumble only because more of the people coming to TD already have it installed. As a result we will have a mutli channel mumble server up and running and the client software available for download from our apps server. People are expected to use this service responsibly. So please bring a Mic with you to TD.
Website information
At the next TD we will have an internal website set up which will have all the information of the days activies and all relevant server address details. The address for this website will be displayed on the IP sheets you collect when you pay your entry fee.
Housekeeping.
We ask that you please clean up after yourself. One problem that does occur is overflowing bins. Please do not place rubbish in a bin above the rim of the bin. If the bin is full to the rim find another bin or contact and admin who can get a new bin bag.
If you arrive early and wish to save a spot for a friend next to you the acceptable way to do this is to place the person chair on the table thus reserving a spot for you friend.
Headphones only – no speakers. Please make sure you only bring headphones as no speakers will be allowed. Unfortunately not everyone has the same taste in music and appropriateness so to reduce any potential aggro please play all sound through your head phones. If you have a laptop or other device with in built speakers please mute or turn them off.
Conclusion
We are looking forward to a great days gaming and fragging (without the lag). We hope you all take advantage of getting involved in the organised team games and hope that during free play you manage to find someone to play the game you want to play.
Regards,
TeamDamage LAN Admin Team.
